New Book.

My first buttonhole stitch book.
I used an old veggie chips bag I had been flattening inside of one of my sketchbooks for the cover. I was saving it for some reason.
I guess this was that reason.

The book measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 1"

Discovery of 163 New Species.

The World Wildlife Federation just announced that in 2008, scientists discovered a total of 163 new species in the Mekong River region of Southeast Asia. The new species included the following: 100 new plant species, 28 new fish, 18 reptiles, 14 amphibians, two mammals and one new bird. These finds came after their 2007 report of cataloguing 1,000 new species in the same region from 1997 to 2007.

Some of the stranger findings include the leopard spotted/cat eyed Cat Ba Leopard Gecko and the fanged Khorat big-mouthed frog that eats birds.

Shake The World, Coming Soon.

My friends at Shake The World have been working hard on getting their premier documentary film complete for the world to see.

"The documentary showcases a variety of simultaneous events from 7:00pm Eastern Standard Time on the day of April 11, 2009. People around the globe were asked to videotape themselves for sixty seconds, and in those sixty seconds, they were given the opportunity to show the world life from their own perspectives."

The self titled documentary will be coming out very soon.

The Green Beard.

A few years ago a good friend of mine was staying with me in my house in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was getting around noon and we were both getting hungry.

And thus, the Green Beard was born.

-2 slices of fresh multigrain bread.
-a nice even spread of hummus on each slice.
-fresh organically grown carrot-cuts.
-sprinkled feta on top of hummus.
-fresh organically grown lettuce layered on top.
-2 slices of either Vermont sharp cheddar or provolone.

Simply delicious.
